Event description
About the training:
Explore a non-clinical approach to sitting with people in suicide distress, developed by people who have been there themselves.
Who this training is for:
This session provides an approach for community members, peer workers, family and friends - anyone in the community who wants to learn skills around more effectively supporting other people in distress who may be struggling with suicidal thoughts.
Themes covered:
This training is non-clinical and avoids potentially harmful risk assessment and referral strategies that are heavily leaned on in other approaches.
Holding Space for Suicide Distress is run by LELAN facilitators with a personal lived experience of suicide.
