Join COTA (Council on the Ageing) Tasmania as we come together with communities around the world to combat elder abuse.

Preventing elder abuse is a critical issue:

One in six people experience elder abuse.
Psychological abuse, including coercive control, is the most common, followed by other forms such as neglect, financial, physical, and sexual abuse.
Abusers are typically someone the elder knows.
Only one-third of victims seek help.
Ageism is a primary driver of abuse.
