Description

We are excited to welcome young artists to our School Holiday Program in September 2026!

Designed to encourage creativity and self-expression in a fun and supportive environment – these FREE workshops are for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander kids and young people living in or around Greater Shepparton.

Get inspired, get creative, and make something deadly! In this workshop you will work with Kaiela Arts artists Mya Falla and Tarn Parker to learn acrylic painting skills and decorate a wooden keepsake of your own with designs inspired by Country, Culture and Family. This workshop is all about expressing your creativity, sharing stories, building confidence, and creating a meaningful artwork to take home and treasure.

All materials will be provided.

Kaiela Arts is an Aboriginal community run arts centre in Victoria, located in Shepparton on the traditional lands of Yorta Yorta people. We provide a culturally safe environment for art making and connection and represent over 90 First Nations artists living in the Kaiela-Dungala region. We have an accessible studio, gallery and shop, and provide space for local our artists and community to connect to culture, and to create, share and sell their art. We also provide educational, professional development and creative and cultural development workshops and programs to artists, community and schools to maintain and connect to culture, country and identity through art making.
