Weekend Workshop: Animal & Bird Pastel Workshop Maxine Thompson
After the success of Maxine’s March pastel workshop, you have the opportunity to once again come and learn from an internationally respected tutor with over 34 years’ experience working with soft (chalk) pastels.
Maxine Thompson is a generous tutor whose demonstrations will equip beginners to advanced students to do a variety of exercises over the weekend with a focus on animal and bird portraiture She will guide you through a number of soft pastel skills, for example: applying pastel to suitable papers, different strokes for effects, colour mixing, layering to create texture for skin, fur and feathers.
During the weekend you will also learn or brush up on skills that are transferable across all art forms including shadows/light, perspective, contrasting tone, texture and observation all while having fun throughout the lessons!
