Women in STEM VE Lunches 2026

We are excited to be launching our Women in STEM (WiS) activities for 2026, funded and coordinated by the College of Vocational Education, primarily for students with a connection to VE. Join us for a series of lunchtime sessions from 11:30am - 1:30pm designed to provide networking, connection with industry and professional development opportunities for staff and students.

Activities: NEW Embodied Confidence and Cryptography workshops**

Free Lunch! 

**Embodied Confidence: Movement for Women in STEM. We will be partnering up with Andrea San Diego from Kembot to run this beginner-friendly interactive movement workshop that uses simple, accessible dance‑based movement to help you build confidence, connect with your bodies, experience joy in a supportive environment and step into your leadership presence. Consider this our alternative take on empowerment and owning your space - all essential components of leadership in STEM! *Please note: this is NOT a dance class. The focus of this workshop will be comfort, support, taking up space and coming into your own through dance-based movement you may not necessarily be used to.

1. International Women's Day Wednesday 4th March. Location: Green Brain (016.07.007) 

2. International Girls in ICT Day Lunch Thursday 23 April. Location: Garden Building 010.06.089

3. WiS Welcome Back Lunch Wednesday 22nd July. Location: Garden Building 010.06.089

These lunches are designed as an opportunity for female and gender diverse students to meet and connect with others in STEM fields, address key concerns and questions that may arise as a woman in the world of STEM and foster a community amongst participants. Our aim is to ensure our graduates are prepared and ready for the future workforce.
