Corlears School Open House 2023

9:30–11:00 a.m.: Early Childhood Division
11:30–12:30 p.m.: Elementary Division (includes Kindergarten)

Corlears School is a progressive school made just for young children located in the heart of Chelsea where students from toddlers through fifth grade are given the foundation they need to fall in love with learning. On Saturday, October 21, prospective families are invited to join our fall Open House to tour spaces, meet Corlears leadership, and learn more about our exceptional school program. 

Children are welcome and encouraged! Developmentally appropriate activities and refreshments will be provided. 

From 9:30–11:00 a.m., prospective families considering our Early Childhood Division will have the opportunity to tour classrooms and building spaces, meet expert Early Childhood faculty, and have their children engage in our play-based, Reggio-inspired approach. Early Childhood families are encouraged to stay for the Elementary Division portion, which includes Kindergarten and covers the supportive transition from early childhood to the all-important elementary years. 

Beginning at 11:00 a.m., prospective families will progress to the gym to learn about the Elementary Division from Kindergarten through fifth grade. Participants will hear from Corlears School leadership about our educational philosophy, curriculum, and our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. We will also be joined by middle school partner The Calhoun School, as well as Corlears alumni who are eager to share their experience at Corlears and beyond.

Since 1968, Corlears has been one of the few schools in NYC focused exclusively on the early years of education, because we believe that the start of your child's school life should be nothing short of exceptional. At Corlears, students are encouraged to ask questions and express ideas in a safe and supportive environment with a challenging interdisciplinary curriculum that instills a lifelong love of learning.
