The role of sustainability and social impact professionals not only requires high levels of technical knowledge and expertise - knowing what and how to do (All of) The Thing(s) - but also a level of mastery over how to communicate, influence, engage, manage, persuade, pressure and convince all types of different people that delivering positive environmental and social outcomes is a good way to operate. Years of reports have resulted in an immense understanding of the nature of problems 'out there' in the real world - overshooting planetary boundaries, the sixth mass extinction, decreasing social cohesion, growing wealth inequality, the decline of the Australian Male at The Olympics.

But what if the problems are no longer about understanding what's wrong out there, but with how we go about relating to our colleagues as decision makers, team members and fellow humans with their own aspirations, values and knowledge sets?

For years you've built an understanding of problems like species loss, domestic violence and men's attitudes to women, a changing climate and the impacts this will have on vulnerable people and communities, emerging technologies and their potential capacity to be Our Much Needed Silver Bullet. You have been trained and wired to have a way of thinking and doing tied to a discipline such as engineering, the law or business. But have you been trained in how to make, do and be The Change though? In how to take what you do know and what would be valuable and having the capability and expertise to do more than act on trite advice such as 'speak their language' or 'understand their motivations'?

What if there were people in our change making community though who understood how to think about, design for and implement deliberate campaigns that helped us achieve the things we hope to see? Luckily there are - Susie Bayes from Climate 200, Paul Oosting of GetUp! and The Wilderness Society fame, and Adam Verwey from SIX-Invest and Future Super will be on hand to share their stories, experience and wisdom with you in how they have been catalysts for significant change in political, investor and corporate environments.

Each will be sharing tools they've used and the philosophies that underpin the work they have and continue to do in pursuit of a more just, safe and beautiful future. This night is interactive - a learning workshop where you will get to learn, apply and receive feedback on how you can become more effective on addressing the problems inside the places you hope to change.
