Event description

At Corpse Couture we offer you a hands-on experience of what it might be like to dress your person after they have died. The practice of caring for the bodies of our deceased has almost been lost in Western colonial culture.  We're here to change that narrative in the most queer way possible.  Join us in this experimental matinee of mock mourning of "Project Runway meets palliative care"

We're gay for consent, access and inclusion so start by co-creating safety guides for the session between you and your corpse.  Our corpses are real humans! people who have created a story and wardrobe for you to practice your craft! Meet your 'Chosen family' who you will work with to fulfil their dying wishes. Our crew will offer instructions on how to dress your corpse before we start the timer....

After the dressing, we will hold yarning circles to share your learnings and hear from our corpses about their experience from ‘the other side’

Bring: Your creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm to help us develop this project.

Dress: Comfortably as you may kneel and move bodies as they lay on the floor.

Snacks and drinks will be provided towards the last hour of the event
