Cosi

Chaos, comedy and questionable creative decisions collide in Cosi, Louis Nowra’s much-loved Australian classic, and nothing goes according to plan.

Set in the 1970s, the play follows a young, earnest theatre director who is given the job of staging a grand opera with a cast who are… let’s just say enthusiastic, wildly unpredictable and absolutely determined to do things their own way. Rehearsals unravel, egos flare, love triangles emerge, and Mozart is put to the ultimate test. As the production lurches from one glorious disaster to the next, Cosi becomes a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud celebration of creativity, individuality and the beautiful madness of making theatre. Beneath the humour lies real heart, warmth and insight, proving that art has a remarkable way of bringing people together, even when everything seems to be falling apart.

Presented by Shepparton Theatre Arts Group as part of the Shepparton Festival, Così is witty, cheeky, heartfelt and unmistakably Australian. Expect big laughs, unexpected tenderness and a night of theatre that’s as chaotic as it is charming
