Cosmic Canvas - An introduction to astronomy featuring an interactive canvas
Event description
Explore the wonders of space on an interactive cosmic canvas. Select from cards representing things you'll find in outer space and watch as the table brings them to life with animations and cool facts. Experiment by placing two cards next to each other to create new and sometimes catastrophic effects - what if you combine a star with a black hole? Bring your Whānau along and get curious about science and astronomy. There will also be some astrophotography on display and kid-friendly introductions to astronomy by a local astronomer.
Supported and funded by the Albert Eden Local Board.
