Cosmos Sextet return in 2026. Continuing their showcase of improvised music, they will present 2 unique sets drawing on the sounds of Joe Henderson, Tony Williams, Sun Ra and many more developers of improvised music. Each set will range from the intense tones of the avant-garde to the smooth modal grooves found within spiritual jazz.

Cosmos Ensemble is Peyo Pappadopoulos’ outlet for exploring the many dimensions of improvised music. In his Honours year of Performance at the Queensland Conservatorium, Pianist and Composer, Peyo Pappadopoulos is heavily influenced by the playing of Alice Coltrane, Geri Allen and Andrew Hill.

Cosmos Sextet aims to continue building on the sounds of modal improvisation within the 70s, exploring fusion experimentations and ambient soundscapes. The group's exploration aim to push the boundaries of improvised music.
