Cost of Poverty Experience Volunteer Participant - Family
Event description
The Cost of Poverty Experience (COPE) is a unique, paced experience for Northside Church and your greater community. BCM Georgia, a missions partner supported by Northside Church, is facilitating COPE to help organizations and communities understand how to work more effectively with low-income families.
BCM Georgia keeps low-income working families housed and thriving with emergency rental support and life-changing financial education. More than 2,822 individuals were served last year alone.
COPE gives participants an opportunity to experience poverty firsthand through the eyes of real families. The nature of this training helps communities more deeply understand the complexities of poverty, paving the way for addressing the issues of poverty more comprehensively.
COPE is a tool that will help your congregation:
Deepen their understanding of the realities of poverty
Improve practices and approaches to better engage low-income individuals and their families
Build partnerships with the broader community to improve outcomes for low-income families
Participating as a Family, 445pm-645pm - you will be given a real-life poverty scenario to consider throughout the event
