Description

Join us for this 3 hour, interactive workshop facilitated by Nicki Bowman.

Participants will learn to build the skills and confidence to navigate tough conversations with staff, clients, clients’ families and other stakeholders. Drawing on best practice communication and de escalation techniques, participants will learn how to balance compassion with clarity so that difficult conversations protect relationships, uphold dignity and support safe, quality care.

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Prepare effectively for high stakes conversations by clarifying purpose, outcomes and boundaries.

  • Use practical communication tools (language, questions, listening and body language) to de escalate emotion and keep conversations on track

  • Navigate power imbalances with staff, clients and families while maintaining professionalism and empathy

  • Respond constructively when conversations become defensive, emotional or stuck, and know when to pause or escalate

This training is designed for Managers, team leaders, coordinators and frontline staff - anyone who needs to address performance, behaviour, complaints, boundaries or sensitive issues with clients, families or colleagues.

Pricing: $50 per members and $100 per non-members.

Spaces are limited, so if you are unable to attend, please email Community Industry Group @ admin@cigroup.org.au or call us on (02) 4256 4333 as soon as possible. This training comes with a non-attendance guarantee of $50.00.
