Cove Point Development - Let's Keep the Trees and protect the Coastal Heath

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The Cove Point development is in the planning stages.  With beautiful coastal views, it offers a rare opportunity to live in a new housing estate within suburban Adelaide.
It’s not all good news, though…..The developer plans to remove all of the regulated and significant trees on the site, as well as some of the Coastal Heath.

There are not many trees open the development site and most of them are situated towards the southern boundary, where they could form part of a planted buffer between homes and the industrial estate to the south, or at the very least, be kept in reserve areas, without significant loss of land, as they’re conveniently clustered together.

The Coastal Heath is an important part of the local coastal ecology.  That too, should be protected, but parts of it are under threat.

Join us at the Cove Civic Centre on Thursday June 8th, for a Public Meeting, beginning at 6:30pm, to hear more about what’s at threat, why it’s important and find out what you can do about it.

Presented by Conservation Council of SA.
