Have you ever heard the Wardandi story of the Cowara bird? The purple crowned lorikeet. The bird the town of Cowaramup was named after.
COMING SOON! On Saturday 18 November 2023 this story will be told at that magical golden sunset time and be performed by local children.Â
Weaving Stories of Boodja presents a FREE COMMUNITY EVENT for all the family starting at 4pm with...Â
- Live Musicians, 4:30pm Simon King, 5:15pm Si&BÂ
- Sausage sizzle by Cowaramup Primary School P&C,
- FREE kids activities, including making your own Cowara bird puppet with Woven Cowaramup and dance workshop with the Cowara Bird Story choreographers & performers.
- The performance will then premiere at sunset 6:50pm and is a contemporary movement/dance adaptation of the Wardandi story, as told by Waljin- Mitchella Hutchins and under the cultural guidance of Dwardinan- Vivian Brockman Webb.
This is a FREE community event, however TICKET registration is essential. Check-in points will be operational at the event.
