Crack the Carcase Code
Event description
Are you trying to decode what’s on the latest processor grids you’ve received? Or have you been trying to work out what your latest feedback sheet says and why you’ve had more animals drop out of spec than you thought? Or are you just not sure if the animals you’re producing are fit for the market you’re targeting?
Join us for our Crack the Carcase Code workshop, as we delve into understanding grids, compliance, and how the things you do on farm can influence your carcase grades.
This workshop kicks off the new MLA Co Contributor Producer Demonstration Site project, 'Livestock Health and Wealth: Interpreting carcase feedback for profitable production'. Workshop attendees will have the opportunity to become part of our 3-year project looking at what they can do to increase carcase compliance in their businesses, and ultimately increase their bottom line.
The workshop will cover:
Understanding grids
Understanding quality assurance programs
Meat Standard Australia requirements
Intramuscular Fat and Eating Quality (IMF and EQ) in lambs
Proprietary feedback systems and how you can access these
Livestock health feedback
myFeedback, myMSA and myMLA
