Event description

Join us for an evening cup of tea or coffee and recycled crafts, learning basic textile mending and upcycling skills (i.e. how to sew a button, patch a hole, repair a seam)!

Feel free to bring clothing or textile items that are missing buttons, need a patch over a stain, have small tears or holes or just come along to practice basic hand sewing techniques with fabric provided! This workshop will help you to develop the basic skills needed to mend or upcycle clothes. If you have other upcycling projects or recycled crafts that you are working on, you are more welcome to bring them along. This event is not a repair service so attendees must be comfortable using sewing needles and have basic sewing knowledge.

Please note:
This workshop is recommended for people aged 18 years and older. If you are under the age of 18 and are interested in joining this workshop, please contact sustainability@monash.vic.gov.au to discuss attendance options.
