Saturday Crafternoon of Support with OurSchool

Happy National/International Pride Month!! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️❤️ Join us both Saturday AND Sunday, June 10th and 11th in a Crafternoon of Support for CampOUT! What is a "Crafternoon of Support," you may ask? It's like Crafternoon, but with the intention to make art for others as well as for yourself!

For this Crafternoon of Support, we're super thrilled to be partnering with the organization OurSchool, a Portland-based nonprofit that provides a digital space for queer young people, their communities, parents, and educators to gather, learn, support one another, and celebrate joy.

OurSchool and SCRAP are inviting participants to a craft-kit-building and letter-writing party for Florida summer camp "CampOUT." We're hoping to assemble up to 150 craft kits and have our Crafternooners—especially our queer Crafternooners!—write letters of love and support to send to the campers, who are all queer or questioning kids. Especially in light of the "Don't say gay" bills and other anti-LGBTQ+ bills in Florida and other states, it's vital to send the message to queer youth that we got you, support you, love you, and that we will all fight for queer futures. 🌈

We'll provide plenty of materials for Crafternooners to make and take home their own Pride projects, including pride-flag found-object mosaics, pronoun pins, rainbow garlands and more. Tell all your friends and family to come to Crafternoon either day (or BOTH days) this weekend and help support OurSchool and CampOUT!

To reserve your spot/seats in before this event, tickets can be purchased in advance through Humanitix on a sliding scale ($5-$10 plus fees). If you would like to contribute to someone else's ticket in addition to your own, please select the Pay It Forward ticket type and know that your contribution helps spread access to creative reuse and creative community-making! Please feel free to call the store (503-294-0769) on the day of the event if you have any questions.

All event ticket sales are final and non-refundable. If you cannot make it to the event, please feel free to send a friend in your place. If you are unable to do that, we still cannot refund your ticket, but you could think of your payment as supporting our SCRAPpy little creative reuse non-profit! We appreciate your support and understanding!
