Create a Terrace Garden for Community Kai
Event description
**POSTPONED TO FRIDAY 22 MARCH**
Join EcoMatters organic teaching garden designer and coordinator, Meg Liptrot, to create a community kai 'terrace' garden.
Last year we built a beautiful bamboo fence with Bambusero (pictured).
This Ecofest we'll be assembling an informal terrace on the slope below. Once the terraces are built, the beds will be back-filled and planted with kai for passers by.
Making use of free/low cost resources, such as logs cut from a fallen tree in our garden (a casualty of cyclone Gabrielle), we will add to the foraging potential of the street, and demonstrate food can be grown almost anywhere!
**No experience necessary, our gardens are all about experimentation and trying new things.**
There are two sessions to choose from:
Friday 15 March and / or
Saturday 16 March from 11-2pm
Bookings required - max 15pp per session
