Wild Woman of Willunga, an advocate for upcycling clothing is presenting Summer Recycled Textiles Workshops to the community over the summer period at the Willunga Show Hall with support from the City of Onkaparinga. These workshops promote well-being and sustainability by repurposing preloved garments, supporting a circular economy and contributing to the reduction of textile waste in landfills while connecting communities.
The low cost creative activity by making funky patches with denim and fabric using a sewing machine. This program encourages social interaction, skill development, and the strengthening of community ties, while supporting sustainability by repurposing garments and advancing the principles of a circular economy. The initiative enhances participant engagement, wellbeing, self-expression, and confidence through creative textile arts.
The Denim Patch Making Workshop offers participants an engaging opportunity to create small pieces of denim or preloved fabrics into patches to custom and personalised badges, attach your finished creation onto jackets, bags or jeans for repair or style.
