Event description
Create in Walcha includes two three-hour workshops with internationally and nationally recognised artisans, along with a delightful lunch from one of Walcha's local cafes, where you will enjoy a delightful day of learning and creating, taking home what you make.
Choose one morning and one afternoon session from the following:
Morning Session 1 - Felt Flowers with Jo Barr
Join us for a creative, hands-on workshop where you'll turn wool fibres into beautiful, hand-crafted flower brooches. No experience needed-just bring your curiosity and enthusiasm to learn a new creative skill.
Workshop held at Walcha Sports Club, 13 W Hamilton St, Walcha. 9am-12noon.
Morning Session 2 - Woodworking with David Barden
Nationally renowned wood artist, David Barden, will share the secrets of decorating a wooden bowl. Using one of David's handcrafted bowls, participants will use a variety of decorating techniques to make the bowl their own.
Workshop held at Wood we create Gallery, 32W Fitzroy St, Walcha, 9am-12noon.
Afternoon Session 1 - Beginners Embroidery with Yvette Stanton
Internationally renowned embroidery teacher, Yvette Stanton, will teach you five beginners embroidery stitches to make a delightful, embroidered heart design.
Workshop held at Walcha Sports Club, 13 Hamilton St, Walcha. 1:30-4:30pm.
Afternoon Session 2 - Whip plaiting with Bernie Brady
Master Saddler and Walcha local Bernie Brady will showcase his skills in whip plaiting, helping you plait and create your own whip to take home.
