Event description
Create Your Own TikTok Series - Workshop for Emerging Creators (18+)
Are you ready to unleash your creativity and learn how to make engaging TikTok series using just your phone? This hands-on, in-person workshop is designed for young adults (18+) interested in content creation, storytelling, filmmaking, and digital media. Whether you're an aspiring filmmaker, drama or arts student, small business owner, or simply curious about TikTok as a creative platform, this workshop will give you the tools and confidence to bring your ideas to life.
In this focused 3-hour session, Leigh Lule, writer, performer and co-creator of popular TikTok comedy series, and Ras-Samuel, a filmmaker and actor, will guide you through the process of conceptualizing, scripting, filming, and editing your own TikTok pilot episode. You’ll learn practical filmmaking tips like lighting, camera angles, and editing, while working collaboratively in small teams to create original content that reflects your unique voice.
This workshop emphasizes creativity over polish in a low-pressure, fun environment, focusing on authentic storytelling, humour, and self-expression. You’ll also pick up tips on developing a personal brand, using social media strategically to grow an audience, and how to keep building content beyond the workshop - whether you're aiming for consistency, impact, or just having fun. Snacks will be provided to keep your energy up!
Please note: Participants must bring a phone with TikTok and/or CapCut installed to fully participate in filming and editing. If you don’t have access to an iPhone, please reach out!
