Sat, 17 May, 9am - 11am AEST

Event description

Growing your own food doesn't have to be expensive! With a bit of patience you can make your own soil and grow your own plants from saved seeds or cuttings.

In this workshop you will learn how to prepare potting mix, propagate plants using a variety of methods (directly, by division, in trays), care for your seedlings as they grow and then transplant them into garden beds or pots.

We'll cover practical skills such as testing, mixing and handling soil components, tending and protecting seedlings and saving seeds from successful crops.

You'll leave with some samples, a planting guide and skills to help you establish an edible garden at home.

Cost: $10 per person. All welcome, particularly beginners or people who have tried and felt they were unsuccessful.

Bookings essential as places are limited.
