Creating Canopies at Cattai
Event description
Help to make our communities more sustainable, liveable and cooler by increasing canopy coverage in urban Sydney! This is a hands-on event where we will aim to plant 1,000 native trees and shrubs to provide shade, cool the air, green existing spaces and lock up carbon dioxide.
'Creating Canopies' is a program of Greater Sydney Landcare and Landcare NSW with the aim of planting over 300,000 native trees across Greater Sydney. The program is part of the NSW Government's Greening Our City initiative to create a more sustainable, liveable and cooler urban environment.
The Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) is a professional association that harnesses the expertise of our members to progress environmental practice and advocate to improve sustainability outcomes.
Greater Sydney Landcare and EIANZ are proud to provide this opportunity for the community to get involved in conservation activities, connect with like-minded individuals and implement practical action to abate the effects of climate change and reduce carbon dioxide in the environment.
