Forest Communion Adventures - Early Spring Foraging along Enchanting Run
·

Event description
Join us this Spring for a monthly native plant forest communion walk along Enchanting Run, starting March 23.
You will learn how to forage and make your own natural remedies from these plants and you will learn how to tune into them and their eco-communities from an energetic perspective, for a healthy dose of what I call Vitamin N (for Nature). When we enter into this realm with a sensory focus, we become very present and the Forest and everything in it becomes very present back. It is a portal into the faery realms of old yet informed with our deepest understandings from science about all these other beings that dwell with us. Spending time dwelling with them is deeply nourishing for our stressed out adult and our depressed or anxious inner child.
We will do a variety of attunements and meditations to deepen our sensory interface and felt connection with the forest and the stream. Each month we will discover new leaves and flowers bursting forth and experience the ever changing kaleidescope of the seasons. This is a wonderful way to create a sense of place that is also very nourishing. These are also great ways to prepare for a weekend training as a forest guide. For more information feel free to contact me at earthwalkways@gmail.com or call 540 752 5540. Leave a message if I do not answer.
The walk to the Rappanannock River along Enchanting Run is only about a third of a mile, but is trailess so you need to be able to clamber over rocks and fallen trees and under brush at times. Good shoes for uneven ground with good grip on rocks are the best. Soft rubber soles seem to grip better than the hard running shoes. Wear layers and bring a water bottle and a little snack.
When you pull into the driveway go past the first house down the hill and straight into the woods. We will meet at the camp ground area that is at the end of that road.
I am happy to be partnering with Lacey Ballow for these walks. She will bring her herbal knowledge and her love of nature with her. Here is her description
