Conversations at PCWC 2025
In this session, we’ll discuss how character is revealed through setting, dialogue, internal voice, and relationships. We’ll begin with crime fiction to examine how genre conventions influence character choice and development. We’ll open the conversation up to other genres, what we expect in characters from those genres and what happens when you break these expectations.

Elle Vidovich is a creative copywriter and content specialist who holds a BA in Creative Writing from Monash University. She has written articles for recognised online publications and website copy for leading brands across Australia. Elle is currently working on a crime novel as a part of the Emerging Writers Program 2024/25.
