Meet the speakers

Tim Jarvis

Tim is the owner and director of Fullers Bookshop an iconic, century-old independent bookstore. Located on Collins Street, Fullers was one of the businesses at the heart of the recent Collins Street Transformation.

Tim will be facilitating the discussion.

Steven Burgess

Steven is an urban strategist, storyteller and Hobart local who has had a 35+ year career creating better streets and more liveable cities around the globe.

He authored Complete Streets – Guidelines to Urban Street Design and was a contributing author to the Global Street Design Guidelines which has been published in 22 languages.

Steven had been at the forefront of testing and delivering economic reality to street design creating places where people want to be, delivering on the Complete Streets mantra - stick, stop, stay, spend and smile.

Daniel Bennett

Daniel is an award-winning and highly experienced urban designer and landscape architect capable of turning big ideas into great places to walk, cycle, meet and spend time.

Daniel's impressive project list spans Greater Adelaide’s Open Space System, Perth’s Entertainment and Sporting Precinct, Adelaide’s Frome Street Bikeway, Sydney's city centre light rail system, Adelaide Laneways Upgrades, Sydney's Oxford Street’s separated bikeways and the Adelaide Design Manual. Based in the Adelaide Hills, Daniel works across Australia and is Chair of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects and WalkingSA.

He is on the board of the Adelaide Park Lands Authority/kadaltilla and the SA Premier’s Climate Change Council and is a regular visitor to Tasmania.
