Event description

When we become business owners, we become marketers. We learn how to get our brand out there, tell the world about what our business does and what it has to offer.

When we talk about marketing, the first thing that comes to mind is advertising on various platforms, but what about networking?

Networking tends to be on the lower rung of priority when it comes to the myriad of things that we, business owners have to do as it’s often put in the ‘too hard’ basket.

But what if you learnt how to create a network, harness the power of that network, understand the important part that you play in it and more?

Pauline Fetaui, Director of ACS Innovation Labs shares how creating a network does not need to be hard if you start with an authentic place of connecting and helping.

Pauline Fetaui is the Director of Innovation for the Australia Computer Society, which includes Technology Innovation Hubs; River City Labs (Brisbane), Bay City Labs (Melbourne), Harbour City Labs (Sydney) and technology trade mission brand Startup Catalyst. She's also the Co-Founder of Something Fest and Something Tech. Queensland’s Digital, Innovation and Technology Festival and the Co-Founder of the Seven Sisters Foundation.  Prior to joining the emerging technology and startup ecosystem,  Pauline spent 20 years leading and delivering Digital, Tech Transformation and Regulatory Change for Global and national large organisations across Banking, Superannuation, Insurance and Government and was the Co-host of the Podcast, Splash of Colour. Pauline is also the Founder of CheeHoo (Personal Assistance Platform for the busy people).

Join The Women of Colour Founders Network's first event, where you can gain tips and insight on creating a powerful, effective network and how your network can be your greatest asset in your professional journey.

This is a FREE event. There will be a Q&A session with Pauline and an opportunity for networking after the event.

Light refreshments will be provided so bring friends/colleagues/family, and anyone who is a WoC Founder at any stage of her business journey to the event. It will be a night of great learning and fun!

Directions to The Precinct and finding your way to the Dimbin-Mill Room.

There are 2 ways to get to The Precinct, we would recommend taking the Duncan St Mall entrance if you're able.

  1. By Train: Hop off at Fortitude Valley Station and walk up Brunswick St Mall. It's about a 5 min walk to The Precinct.
  2. By car: There are multiple options for paid parking garages near The Precinct
  3. Brunswick St Mall entrance: Head down the alleyway in between Hey Chica! and Retro's. Then follow the signs either up the stairs. Alternatively, if accessibility is required,  please take the lift on the right to Level 1 as you're walking down the alleyway.
  4. Duncan St entrance: Head down Bernie Lane (next to Wagaya Japanese), and you'll see the stairs towards your right. Follow the signs to head up the stairs or take the lift further down towards Hey Chica! to Level 1 if required.
