Creating Mentally Fit Workplaces

Navigating the world of work in 2021 is getting more difficult for most of us.

We're doing what we can - but are often being asked to do more with less.

We're struggling to find balance - often with competing priorities between our own needs and the needs of others.

There's more uncertainty than ever - and this Covid thing doesn't seem to be going away!

Last year ahead of Mental Health Week, Bel Ryan and Bek Smith hosted an event called "Growing Hope". A group of business leaders and professionals came together to regroup, take new perspectives on wellbeing through a 2020 lens, and explore innovative ways of gaining clarity on the path ahead.

This year, it is clear that things remain unclear! So what can we do when the challenges are still mounting, to get our heads above water and even find ways to grow personally and professionally?

"Creating Mentally Fit Workplaces" is our precursor to Mental Health Week 2021. This breakfast event at Adelaide Oval is not just a workshop, motivational talk or fundraiser for purpose - while it is all of these things, it is also a chance to connect with each other and learn lessons that have been hard-won over the last 12 months.

You will hear from some of Adelaide's inspirational drivers of change - people who have championed new ways of connecting, new ways of working, and new ways of supporting one another. This is an opportunity to see what is happening in workplaces that are embracing human-centric business principles, the successes they are experiencing, and contemplate how you can create your own mentally fit workplace.

Doors open at 7.45am for an 8:00 start. Proceeds will once again be donated to Breakthrough Mental Health Research Foundation, whom we thank for their in-kind support of our events as well as their ongoing work to build mentally healthier communities.

October 8 at Adelaide Oval. Show up. Be inspired. Drive change. The world needs us to do things differently now, and the best way to start is together.
