Creating Ripples of Hope in Therapeutic Contexts
Event description
Dance movement-, Creative and Body-based Therapists and Healthcare Professionals are invited to a 2-day professional development workshop facilitated by New Zealand based Clinical Psychologist and Dance Movement Therapist Brigitte Puls, with Arjuna Ben Zion Weiss, PhD as musician. Through embodied, creative exploration and reflection, participants learn new ways to respond to the impact distressing global events are having on our clients and ourselves.
Framed through the lenses of Indigenous (NZ) and Western Models of Wellbeing, Brigitte invites us to embrace these often difficult emotional/ embodied states, and importantly, to move beyond suffering into states of self-agency, wellness and a sense of meaning making. We will work with physical, mental, social-emotional, nature based and spiritual aspects of our identity into Hope and empowerment.
Participants’ learnings are transferrable into personal and global contexts.
Hosted by the DTAA and presented by: Brigitte Puls, Clinical Psychologist (NZ reg), Clinical Supervisor (DTAA and MDTAA), Dances of Universal Peace Leader, Reverend, DMT Group Facilitator (sexual abuse, PTSD, mental health), Private Practice, Educator (Auckland University of Technology)
with Arjuna Ben Zion Weiss, PhD as musician
