Creative Body Inquiry
movement and art making for connection, nourishment & possibility
Creative Body Inquiry is a series of multidisciplinary movement and art making sessions for connection, nourishment and possibility.
Working across art forms inviting a whole body approach to ways of connecting, relating and knowing.
CBI sessions are;
accessible to all bodies and experience
held in a ethical container that values diversity
they aim to;
cultivate a sense of physical/embodied awareness and support relationality through connection with self (body) and others (human and other-than-human bodies)
engage the imagination through creative themes and invitations to extend known territories
bring attention to needs, patterns, preferences and tensions
create space to reflect, acknowledge and share what we are noticing (sharing is optional)
Through this sensory exchange with physical properties, the rigid boundaries between self and other begin to dissipate..
what to expect;
once we have acknowledged how and where we have landed we will start with a movement based warm in exercise to meet the score or theme for the session.
we will spend up to 1 hour engaging creative movement through guided and improvised invitations.
this includes both solo, partnered and group work
after a short check in we spend around 30 minutes giving expression to our experience multimodality through art making
we find a landing place for our inquiry and regather to reflect and share what we are noticing and what feels alive for us now.
