Description

Creative Collisions returns in Edinburgh with our friends at Creative Edinburgh, building on the conversations and connections sparked at our autumn Bridging Communities event, How Failure Changes You.

If you have recently identified a setback, a wrong turn, or a moment that changed you, this session is where you do something about it. Creative Collisions offers a structured, hands-on and creative way to illustrate those moments of failure and turn them into something you can see, share and learn from.

This session goes into the lived reality of failure and what it leaves behind:

  • What failure looks and feels like as it happens

  • How creative expression can help us process, reframe and move on from it

  • Turning a private setback into a story that connects with others

A key theme throughout the session will be the value of making the invisible visible. Failure so often stays locked inside us, carrying more weight than it needs to. By giving it shape through creative tools and conversation, we can loosen its grip, see it more clearly, and recognise the transformation it sets in motion. There's no need to be "an artist" or "creative type" to take part.

Attendees will hear a few honest, practical stories of failure and what came next, before rolling up their sleeves.

After the stories (and a short break), there will be a facilitated, interactive session guided by Creative Edinburgh. Using accessible creative tools and prompts, attendees will illustrate a moment of failure or change from their own experience.

Speakers include:

Glen Liddell – Former CEO at People Know How

Christina Cran – Founder of Wee Seeds

Arrival and Initial Networking: 09:30 (tea/coffee and light pastries provided)

Speakers start: 10:00

Artistic Workshop: 10:45

As part of your ticket, you're also welcome to cowork at the venue for the rest of the day.

This session is designed for:

  • Anyone who attended Bridging Communities and wants to go deeper

  • People processing a recent setback, failure or change

  • Anyone curious about using creative methods to reflect and reframe — no experience needed
