Creative Collisions: Stories and Tools for Navigating Change
Description
Creative Collisions returns in Edinburgh with our friends The Glow Club and Scottish Women in Business, building on the conversations and connections sparked at Creative Collisions in November.
This session goes into the lived reality of change, what it looks like as it unfolds, and what it asks of us as individuals and leaders:
· What change looks like personally
· What change looks like professionally
· The science behind change - why it affects us the way it does, and what that means for how we lead it (in ourselves and with others)
A key theme throughout the session will be working to understand what happens when people don’t sit neatly in “pro-change” or “change-resistant” boxes. Most of us carry a mix of change orientations, depending on context and timing. Being comfortable with change can create its own blind spots, with change happening too quickly for some, leaders assuming shared context or understanding, or skipping communication. Supporting those who find change harder is important, but so is helping fast-movers recognise their default, understand the impact and support people who experience change differently.
Attendees will hear three honest, practical stories of change as it unfolded and how individuals navigated it in their work and lives.
After the speakers (and a short break), there will be a facilitated, interactive session introducing a practical tool. Attendees will use it in the room to structure their reflections on change, clarify what’s really happening and identify purposeful next steps they can take away and apply immediately.
Speakers include:
· Martin Boath, Imaginary Friends
· Leigh Campbell-Wan, Lab & Soul
· Gael Drummond, Firstport
Arrival and Initial Networking: 09:30 (tea/coffee and light pastries provided)
As part of your ticket, you’re also welcome to cowork at the venue for free for the rest of the day.
