Event description

Creative Connection

Presented as a part of the 'Interconnected' ceramic art exhibition and hosted within the gallery walls, the Creative Connection event is an opportunity to nurture your creative inner self.

You are invited into a soothing blend of somatic practices, gentle movement, and meditation, guided by creative mentor and Mind-Body Coach, Shannon Palmer. Discover a sense of serenity and fulfilment as we contemplate what it means to be connected—with the earth, each other, and ourselves.

As a part of the experience, you will take home a unique ceramic keepsake handmade by Kura Studio and enjoy a private viewing of the exhibition before doors open for the day.

Join us in this exceptional event where personal reflection and creativity converge, and experience a truly nourishing and soulful gathering.

Important information

This event is being held in the upstairs gallery at PS Art Space. Enter through the door at the corner of Pakenham and Leake.

8.30–8.45: Arrive, have a cup of tea and select your keepsake
8.45–9.45: Guided meditation and somatic practice
9.45–10.00: Mingle, enjoy the exhibition, and drift into the rest of your day

Somatic practices include simple prompts and movements with the aim of developing greater body awareness. They are very gentle and can be done lying down, seated or standing. Shannon's guidance is an invitation—you are always welcome to opt out or move differently.

Please wear comfortable clothes that allow for light movement and stretching. We’ll provide an assortment of soft things for sitting. If you have a favourite yoga mat, meditation cushion, bolster or other support, you’re very welcome to bring it along.

Please be aware a photographer will be present for a portion of this event. By purchasing a ticket you consent to the possibility of appearing in images for documentation purposes. We have made every effort to ensure the photography is unobtrusive and your enjoyment and comfort are of the highest importance.

About the keepsakes

Drawing inspiration from prayer tools used across religions and cultures, the ceramic meditation loops by Kura Studio offer a secular and inclusive approach to mindfulness through the medium of art. These sculptural pieces echo the functions of their historical counterparts, providing a tangible connection to your practice. Each is unique and features a series of undulations, ridges and voids that create a rhythmic tactile experience, which will gradually become more familiar as you deepen your mindfulness journey.
