Event description

We invite you to join the AHNNA (Arts Health Network) collective of socially engaged artists for a transformative creative exchange workshop exploring themes of belonging, home, place, and journey. Together, we'll delve into the concept of the body as "home" and the self as a tapestry of lived experiences, exploring how our senses shape our connection to the world.

Through movement, dance, and gestural mark-making, participants will collaboratively create a vibrant flag/banner that reflects these themes.
Drawing inspiration from nature (with outdoor space available), we’ll explore texture, color, sound, and shape to evoke the feeling of “home.” The completed flag will be deconstructed into cushion-sized pieces, symbolizing "a seat at the table," and gifted to participants as a tangible reminder of community, belonging, and shared creative expression. The event will comprise of :

Movement session with Diane Busuttil [20-30 minutes] - exploring the concept of home within our bodies and what elements of safety and comfort mean to each of us internally.
Gestural mark making session on calico with Michelle Jersky

Come move, create, and connect — all are welcome to find their place in this collaborative journey!

On completion of our beautiful fabrics, Tom Isaacs will lead a shared sewing group to turn the fabrics into cushion covers.

Please register for this event before the 28th of January.

We look forward to sharing this creative art exchange with you!!
