Creative Marine Life Discovery with Wildcard-Sue

Event description

Discover the unique marine animals of Botany Bay during a talk and creative experience with artist, diver and conservation advocate, Sue Liu. 

You’ll get to know more about some favourite marine animals in the area and some of the things that threaten them in their environment. You’ll also be introduced to the basics of drawing surrounded by Sue Liu's inspiring illustrations in the Marine Dream in Botany Bay Exhibition.  A fun way to learn!

Basic art materials will be provided. Maximum 20 people.

Please note:
 the La Perouse Museum does not currently have disabled access to the first floor where the workshop is being held. Please contact the Museum on 9093 6190 if you have questions or concerns regarding mobility.

Conditions of booking

  • Suitable for children and adults
  • All children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult guardian
  • Parents/ adult guardians accompanying children must pay for the activity.

COVID-19

Do not attend on the day if you are:

  • experiencing any flu-like symptoms (sore throat, loss of taste/smell, runny nose, persistent cough, shortness of breath, fever)
  • awaiting the results of a test for COVID-19
  • have been directed by NSW Health to isolate.

Please assist in keeping all participants safe during the event, by observing instructions provided by Council staff or signage.

    Photographs, videos and voice recordings

    Randwick City Council staff may on occasion take recordings of participants during activities (including photographs, videos and voice recordings) that could be used for the following purposes:

    • educational or community information purpose
    • Council displays and promotions of community education events
    • to complement the promotion of Randwick's Marine and Coastal Program.

    If you DO NOT wish for the participant’s recording to be used according to these conditions, please indicate this during the booking process.

    Cancellation conditions

    This activity may be cancelled due to insufficient bookings, NSW COVID-19 health orders or poor weather. Participants will be advised in the event the activity changes or cancellation occurs. All care has been made in the preparation of the 2023 Marine and Coastal Discovery Program but some changes may occur due to circumstances beyond the control of Randwick City Council. Refunds will be provided for paid activities that are cancelled 48 hrs prior to the event start and in the event of cancellation by Council.
