Creative Mending Afternoon - Sydney Craft Week

Join us at The Sewing Basket Caringbah for a special after-hours in-store event dedicated to creative mending. Our team of volunteers and staff will guide each participant through the process of repairing a garment they've brought along. 

Whether you’re looking to mend a pull or hole in a knitted item, cover a stain with a patch using whip or blanket stitch, or add decorative stitching and fabric to repair a tear in jeans or another beloved item, we’re here to help. 

Participants will learn a range of simple and useful techniques, including the blanket stitch, whip stitch, and half back stitch—perfect for repairing, concealing flaws, or adding a personal touch to your clothing. 

We’ll provide all the basic tools and materials you’ll need, including threads, fabrics, patches, and embellishments—everything to support your mending during the event and to help you continue your creative journey at home.
