Creative Nonfiction Course
Event description
Creative nonfiction is a broad and exciting genre that includes many popular sub-genres, such as memoir, personal essay, investigative journalism, crime, and travel writing, and much more. In this course, you will learn about the main genres and the common principles in creative nonfiction writing, such as making the author into a character, writing vividly, developing narrative and incorporating research seamlessly, and be exposed to a wide range of texts, including some by Jewish authors.
The program will include theory, class discussions, writing exercises and a Q&A with a guest speaker, a prominent creative nonfiction writer.
You do not have to be a professional writer, nor do you need to have a piece of writing prepared to participate. But you should be willing to invest in your writing, attend sessions and be an active group participant!
Sessions will take place in-person, and occasionally over Zoom.
This course is open to people of all ages and all backgrounds and limited to 10 participants. You must currently reside in NSW or ACT.
