Creative Reflections: Stories, Memories & Meaning for over-65s

Creative Reflections is a creative storytelling workshop exploring identity, values, memories and meaning through writing, collage, art and other creative forms of expression.

Across the series, you’ll be invited to explore the experiences, people, places and ideas that have shaped your life, and consider them from new and unexpected perspectives. Each session introduces a different creative approach, with activities designed to spark memories, stories and ideas — and to explore how our experiences can take on different meanings over time.

You don’t need to consider yourself a writer or an artist, and there’s no pressure to produce polished work. This is a space to experiment, explore and create in whatever way feels meaningful to you. You might write about a moment from your past, create a collage, play with images and words, or simply follow a memory and see where it leads. Your stories are yours to explore, in whatever form feels right for you.

There will also be plenty of time to relax, chat and connect with others. You’ll have opportunities to share stories, exchange ideas and get to know other people in the group, whether you come with stories to tell or simply with a curiosity to hear what others have to say.

• Free to attend — all materials and refreshments are provided.

• Creative materials provided — pens, notebooks, collage materials and art supplies will be available. Feel free to bring your own favourite materials if you'd like.

• Tea and coffee provided — take a break, have a cuppa and enjoy some conversation.

• No previous creative experience needed — just bring yourself and an open mind.

• Time to connect — there will be plenty of opportunity to chat, share stories and meet others.
