Join us for a kickoff event for ARCOS Presents: Creative Resistance at Hyperreal Film Club Aug. 30, featuring live music, ARCOS Presents artists Venese Alcantar, Lichen Bouboushian, and Omar Mousa sharing a preview of their work, including a premiere screening of the film portion of SalSāl (clay that makes sound), a reading by Bouboushian, a conversation with the artists, and a preview of a documentary following their processes.

LICHEN BOUBOUSHIAN will present on their project Rupture: Sneak

In a work that lives between dance, performance art, and oral history, Lichen navigates a perilous set while telling the story of their Armenian, Lebanese, and American heritage.

VENESE ALCANTAR + OMAR MOUSA will present on their project SalSāl (clay that makes sound)

A dance/film investigates the body as landscape, malleable, marked by history, and in constant transformation in this collaboration by Mexican-Indigenous movement practitioner Venese Alcantar and Palestinian-American filmmaker Omar Mousa.
