    Event description

    SOLE TRADER? PARTNER? NFP? HUH?
    Are freelancers, contractors and sole traders all the same thing? What’s the difference between a not-for-profit and a social enterprise? Is a theatre company really a company? SHOULD I CARE?

    Every business in Australia has a structure, and each structure means different things in terms of the rights and responsibilities of the people in charge.

    It’s boring stuff, but essential for anyone wanting to take the next step and understand how their professional practice fits into the business world.

    Participants will learn more about:

    • Being a sole trader, freelancer and contractor;
    • The different types of partnerships, and how to avoid issues when working with love;
    • Companies and Special Purpose Vehicles;
    • The different types of Not-For-Profits;
    • New Kid on the Block: The Social Enterprise

    The pros and cons, as well as registration processes, will be outlined for each.

    What do I get? All participants of this workshop also receive:

    • Lifetime access to a dedicated Dropbox folder jam packed full of resources;
    • Access to additional free webinars to supplement the material covered in the workshop;
    • The possibility of further one-to-one business advice, mentoring and support from one of our creative industries business specialist advisors.

    Ideal For: Creative business beginners, curious hobbyists, early-stage freelancers.
