Creative Try-Outs: Slow Stitching with Malika Henderson
Event description
On Saturday, August 23 from 10:30am to12pm, we will introduce a new Creative Try-Out: Slow Stitching with Malika Henderson! Slow stitching combines appliqué and embroidery as a creative way to experiment with texture, color, and freeform design. It’s a chance to slow down and work with your hands. Many people find that the simple, repetitive motion of stitching helps calm the mind, reduce anxiety, and create a sense of flow.
For this workshop, you’ll sew different fabrics on a denim background, using colored threads. The final result can be a decorative patch or mini artwork. There are no patterns to follow or complicated stitches to learn; it’s just pure fun and intuition!
All materials provided, and all ages welcome. (Parents please accompany younger children.) No experience necessary.
