Creative Visible Mending Workshop
Event description
Join Ballina Shire Council and Corinne Wilson for a 3 hour hands-on workshop for beginners where you'll learn the skills and confidence to extend the life of your clothing in a unique and creative way.
In this workshop, you will learn the art of mending your clothing and other treasured textiles to enhance, rather than hide a hole or tear, and create a beautiful feature with a story to tell.
With 18 years of sewing and upcycling experience, Corinne will teach you the basics of visible mending with a variety of techniques to breathe new life into your favourite garments, while also reducing waste and promoting sustainability. By embracing the art of mending, you'll be joining a movement that's all about reducing our environmental footprint - one stitch at a time.
Bring up to 2 garments you would like to mend.
To ensure participants receive close care and guidance from the workshop tutor throughout the event, the number of participants is strictly limited to 10.
Contact justine.rowe@ballina.nsw.gov.au for any questions.
This project is proudly funded by the NSW Environment Protection Authority.
