About the Class:

A perfect event for everyone, beginners and seasoned artists alike. In these workshops, we will dive into various art forms like collage and mindful pattern drawing and discuss techniques to nurture your mental and emotional well-being through creativity. Join us to relax, express yourself, and connect with a supportive community. This Collage Workshop is designed to explore the creative and therapeutic process of collage-making. This class emphasizes mindfulness, self-expression, and creativity through the art of cutting, arranging, and gluing images and text to create unique compositions. Students will learn how to harness their intuition and inner creativity to produce visually engaging and meaningful collages that speak to them.

About the Artist: Makala Aayana

Makala Aayana (b. 1998) is a sustainable, multidisciplinary artist based in Durham, North Carolina, who wholeheartedly embraces the power of art to foster community, explore identity, and spark meaningful conversations. With a diverse range of artistic mediums at her disposal, including acrylic painting and printmaking, Makala brings her unique perspective and creative energy to every project she undertakes.
