Join Us for Creative Workshops with Tony Hannan!
Focus:
- Costume Making: Backpack-based costumes, characters, portable inflatables
- Masks and Headdresses
Open to all community members: seniors, youth, school kids, sewers, crafters and anyone with a passion for creativity and community arts projects.
Workshop Highlights:
- Learn to make hats, masks, costumes, or portable inflatables inspired by the ancient inland sea, the Eromanga Sea.
- Use themes such as plesiosaurs, prehistoric fish, coral, ammonites, belemnite, and giant jellyfish for inspiration.
- Gain skills to contribute meaningfully to the Opal Evolution Festival parade in October.
- Opportunities to participate in significant events in Woomera, Roxby Downs, and beyond.
About Tony Hannan:
Tony is a sculptor and maker who works with communities to create giant puppets, parade floats, banners, and flags. He teaches a wide range of skills including lantern making, stilts, inflatables, fire murals, and articulated fire puppets. Tony is the founder of kneeHIGH puppeteers (now OSCA) and the Hills Lantern Festival.

Location:
Andamooka Primary School, Community Library
All participants aged 8 years old or under, must be accompanied by an adult for the entirety of the workshop.
