CREATIVE WRITING MASTERCLASS

with Eileen Herbert-Goodall

"Eileen's Creative Writing Masterclass was absolutely fantastic! She was able to deliver excellent and highly detailed content that would enhance and extend any writer's or budding writer's skills, as well as create a comfortable atmosphere where participants could share their work and discuss concepts with Eileen and others in the class. Eileen covered a wide variety of topics and explained them so that everyone, regardless of their writing experience, could understand. I would definitely recommend this workshop!" - 2020 participant.

You know the basics of creative writing; now it's time to master it.

Creative Writing Masterclass is an 8-week course that offers an in-depth exploration of the various skills and techniques associated with crafting excellent fiction and memoir. The course is tailored to help you better understand a wide range of intermediate to advanced techniques used in creative writing. You will practise techniques designed to add texture, depth, and sophistication to your writing. Such techniques include tapping into character to develop original and engaging plotlines; exploring time, space and psychic distance in narrative; creating a unique voice; and taking risks with experimental writing techniques (by blending genres, using white space, manipulating point of view, and more).

Each two-hour weekly workshop is designed to help you build upon your existing writing skills; therefore, prior writing experience is favourable. You will also be invited to complete a short narrative to share with others enrolled in the program. There will be in-class writing exercises each week and short readings to be completed at home.

Unavailable to make it in person? You can also watch this workshop via online live stream! Live stream tickets are available here.
