FAQs
- Who is this for?
Artists and communities new to grantwriting. The series is designed for you to be actively working towards submitting a real grant, however Alysha will have some hypothetical projects you can use for practice if you don’t have a clear project yet. The workshop is skewed towards creative outcomes or community projects working with artists. Projects could be small professional development opportunities through to large-scale multi-year community projects or capacity building initiatives. The series is not connected to any specific grants/grant rounds but Alysha will talk about some opportunities to look out for.
If you are working on grants in another sector, some of the content may not be relevant to you but you are still welcome to attend.
- Cost?
Free for anyone in regional SA. $20* for the series for anyone else.
Alysha is donating her time because she doesn’t want a lack of skills or confidence to stop amazing ideas coming to life. Her priority is regional artists and regional communities who already face additional barriers.
*Any fees from the series will be invested into regional outcomes delivered by Part of Things.
- Where?
Each session will run for 1.5hours using video-conferecing (Zoom).
30minutes – Tutorial with Q&A
30minutes – Boby doubling* to get sh*t done
30minutes – Check-in and goal setting for the next session
Sessions are live and will not be recorded.
*Body doubling is a productivity technique where another person's presence, either in-person or virtually, helps you stay focused and motivated to complete tasks. What this means is you’ll have 30minutes to work on your actual grant while online with everyone else for accountability and support. Alysha will be working on her own pending grants at the same time too!
