Each session is cumulative and designed so that you are actively writing your grant application over the five weeks ready for submission. Each week builds on and extends the previous session with overlapping content. The below dotpoints are indicative as the sessions will be adjusted to the registered cohort.

WEEK ONE – Project Description and Getting Started

· Project description draft

· Timeline & budget assumptions

· What you need to know about the application form and guidelines

WEEK TWO – Budget and Timeline

· Sense check your project and any gaps (and why you should always make contact with the funder)

· Mapping the team (people always cost the most so start there)

· Collaborations and inkind

· Budget and timeline go together – scope creep

· Who could you ask for letters of support (LOS)?

WEEK THREE – Support Material and Impact

· Support material – what to include and why

· Ask for LOS (if you haven’t already)

· Artistic SupMat

· Other SupMat

· Thinking about impact and how to articulate why

WEEK FOUR – Gaps and Guts

· Why this, why now, why you?

· You should have dot points in all the key sections now – what’s still missing and how do we fill those gaps?

· Where is the competitive edge and what do you really need to include to get grants over the line?

WEEK FIVE – Outside Eyes and What Next

· Which things let people down when being assessed

· Documentation and evaluation of your project

· What if I put all that work in and still don’t get the grant?

· Polishing and final checks

· Opportunities for the future
