ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY
Creative Ladies in the Hills and Valleys is a documentary featuring artists in the Dandenong Ranges and Yarra Valley. It captures colourful, thoughtful and sentimental stories about local creatives. Directed by Pearley Jones and filmed by videographer Vanessa White, it also provides vignettes of local artists' practices, the places they call home, the importance of social connections, community and positive wellbeing, within the backdrop of COVID-19 and recurrent lockdowns. Eight Yarra Ranges based creative women are featured including Clair Bremner, Nikki Browne, Ilana Greener, Emma Jennings, Debra Kelly, Alana Langan, Claire Murray and Sandi Sieger. This project has come to life with the support of Yarra Ranges Council, Helen Macpherson Smith Trust, Regional Arts Victoria and the broader artistic community in the hills and valley region.
