CREATIVESPACE@PICS Annual Art Exhibition
Event description
CREATIVESPACE@PICS, the visionary Primary Integrated Care Supports – or PICS program, proudly presents its third annual art exhibition. Held during October’s Mental Health Month, this uplifting event highlights the creativity and resilience of past and present PICS participants on their mental health journey.
This year’s theme is JOY! Through painting, linocut, stencil work, and mixed media, artists have explored personal interpretations of joy—what it looks like, feels like, and means in their recovery journey.
Highlights of this year's exhibition include a collaborative project with the Canterbury Shopfront Arts Co-op, and final pieces created in the special workshop led by artist Marc Dempsey, who introduced the group to the art of stencil design.
CREATIVESPACE@PICS is a weekly therapeutic art group supported by a team of passionate PICS nurses and peer workers. With the support of art grant funding the program continues to empower participants as they build confidence, express themselves, and foster social connection through creativity.
Come celebrate community, resilience, JOY! and the power of art.
